IRISH AMERICA 250 – CELEBRATING THE IRISH SPIRIT IN AMERICA
IrishAmerica250 is a nationwide, community initiative commemorating 250 years of Irish American contributions to the United States since 1776.
From the earliest days of our nation’s founding – when Irish-born General Stephen Moylan is cited by historians as the first person to use the term “United States of America” – to the present, Irish Americans have played a vital role in shaping American democracy, culture, and society.
This project honors the rich and complex legacy of Irish America, highlighting unsung heroes, acknowledging challenges, and fostering a vibrant, inclusive celebration of our shared heritage. Join us as we seek out the full story of Irish America and its enduring impact on the nation.
We are working with Irish community and culture centers all over America to prepare for the 250th Anniversary. The Irish were there at the beginning of the birth of the nation. We hope to use this opportunity to pass on our culture and values to the next generation to sustain our democracy. We are an established LLC in Maryland and all funds donated are tax deductible.
Together, we will celebrate the legacy, culture, and spirit of Irish America. Learn more at
