The Society of the Friendly Sons and Daughters of Saint Patrick has been selected to receive the Mayo Association’s 2021 Meitheal Award.
As an organization, we are proud to exemplify the spirit of meitheal, community unity through cooperative work and mutually reciprocal support. For well over two centuries, our Society of the Friendly Sons and Daughters have cared for and looked after the Irish community, from the poorest immigrant to our shores, to the young men and women in our community seeking higher education, and in very recent times, to community members most seriously affected economically by the devastation of the Covid-19 pandemic.
