Sometimes in life, history unexpectedly intersects with the present. Such is the case this year as The Society of The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick celebrates our 250th Anniversary.
The 100th Anniversary meeting on March 17th, 1871, was celebrated with great fanfare having General Ulysses S. Grant, President of the United States present as the Society’s guest of honor and proposed into membership. One of the members in attendance that evening was Colonel Dennis Heenan, the Great-Great-Great Grandfather of the society’s current President, Ryan M. Heenan who will preside over this year’s 250th Anniversary.
