Academic Benevolence Continues

September 23, 2020

Earlier this week, we announced a new $50,000 endowed scholarship established at Merion Mercy Academy.

Our good deeds did not stop there! Read on to see a few more highlights the impact you are making as members of this Society.

$18,000 to St. Joseph’s Prep

We are pleased to announce an additional $18,000 in funding towards our endowed scholarship at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, thanks in part to member-directed donations of Bernard Kueney, Kevin and Anne Maloney, and Michael and Kim Maloney.

$14,000 to Villanova University

This year, we were able to add $14,000 to our scholarship endowments at Villanova thanks in part to Joseph & Kathleen Heenan, Dennis Stanton, and the generous members of Villanova University’s staff and alumni who continue to support our Society.

$5,000 to Camphill Special School

Based in Chester County, PA, Camphill Special School is a school for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They offer academic programs for children from kindergarten to grade twelve, and a transitional program for young people ages 18 to 21. This year, the Friendly Sons were able to add $5,000 towards their endowed scholarship through a member-directed donation from Joseph & Kathleen Heenan.

Other Scholarships Benefitted

Contributions were also made to the following scholarship endowments in 2020:

  • St. Joseph’s University: $2,500
  • Neumann University: $1,000
  • Gwynedd Mercy University: $1,000

Thank You

As always, we are grateful for the support of our members to make these incredible works possible.
