FSSP Establishes $50,000 Endowed Scholarship at Merion Mercy Academy
We are excited to announce a newly established $50,000 scholarship endowment to Merion Mercy Academy. This grant has been made possible through the generous contributions of our members and a matching donation of $25,000 from the Mullarkey Family.
About the Scholarship
This scholarship was created to benefit students of Irish descent, in need of financial assistance to enroll or maintain enrollment in Merion Mercy Academy.
We support the core values of Merion Mercy, and look forward to a long lasting partnership to help those in need within our community.
A Note From MMA
On behalf of all of us at Merion Mercy, I extend my profound gratitude for your very generous endowed scholarship – The Society of The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick for The Relief of Emigrants from Ireland and Mary F. Mullarkey.
Much like the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, our mission calls us to help those in need. Almost 200 years ago in Dublin, Ireland, Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy to address the needs of those in her community, whether their needs were educational, physical, or spiritual. As such, today at Merion Mercy Academy we work hard to make a life-changing educational opportunity available to deserving girls without the financial resources to afford a top-notch private secondary experience. While we are proud of our outstanding academic program, we are particularly distinguished by the core Mercy values that animate our lives here at Merion Mercy Academy.
I am grateful and humbled for your generous support and look forward to partnering together. Please find a signed copy of the scholarship agreement.
