On Sunday, September 8, 2019, three representatives from the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick drove up from Philadelphia to attend mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. Afterwards, Society Secretary Ryan Heenan presented to Cardinal Timothy Dolan a $5,000 donation from the Society for the St. Patrick’s to the Rebuild Notre Dame fund.
The first Bishop and visionary of the St. Patrick’s Cathedral was Archbishop John Hughes, a member of the Friendly Sons and early chaplain of our Society in Philadelphia before his transfer to New York.
